Social activist Layle Lane (1893-1976) had a 30-acre estate here called LaCitadelle, adjacent to what is now the Our Lady of Czestochowa shrine property. I speculate that this address was the center of a parcel that was developed into tract housing. (Online, there are references that Lauterios Painting has an office here.). If anyone has more information, please comment below. There is now a historical marker for Lane at the corner of Layle Lane and Ferry Road. (I suppose Layle Lane Lane would have sounded awkward, but why not Layle Lane Road?) Lane ran a farm co-op here for underprivileged children from the 1930s to the 1950s.
