There is a classic Philadelphia regional dish, the Philadelphia Special, a plate of fried oysters next to chicken salad. It is no longer offered at the Blue Bell Inn, but is at the William Penn Inn (both also on Cyber Plaque). Craig La Ban's chat in the Philadelphia Inquirer of 4/24/14, at F2, mentions that Oyster House (on the site of the old Sansom Street Oyster House) has the Philly-style lunch of snapper soup, fried oysters, and chicken salad. [5/5/14 update - fried oysters with chicken salad is on the lunch menu at the Blue Bell Inn. Maybe I did not scroll down far enough before, as it is the last item on the online menu.]
