Where Cheez Whiz Was First Applied to a Cheesesteak?
In the 5/31/08 Philadelphia Inquirer, page A8, in a letter to the editor, a Regina Gear Keating wrote that in 1962, in the ARA-run cafeteria at this location, Whiz was first applied to cheesesteak sandwiches. She wrote that it took too long to melt American or provolone, so the chef started to use Whiz.
