This is the former home of the Adelphi Theater. As far as I can tell, it was also once called the Adelphi Ballroom, the place that is mentioned a lot in the history of the Hall & Oates pop music group as where Daryl Hall and John Oates met in a service elevator, trying to escape a riot at a record hop the two were attending.
