Cross-burning on front lawn of Lansdale, PA, home, c. 1923.

A cross was burned on the front lawn of this home in about 1923. The house was apparently chosen just because of its visibility. There is an account at http://lansdalehistory.org/pdf/BACK%20IN%20TIME%20Klan.pdf, and while it does not directly link the act to the Ku Klux Klan (KKK), it is a signature Klan move.
