Prohibition Era Speakeasy Near Rittenhouse Square

The Stotesbury Mansion has for many years now been the home of the c( Philo Club ), which rents out the premises for events. It has quite a history, including visits by several presidents, and a fireplace belonging to Dolly Madison from the White House. The thing that I found most interesting is that the bar for the ballroom was a speakeasy during the Prohibition era. You enter the ballroom through a mirrored hallway, and if you look carefully you will see that one of the mirrored panels on the left wall is really a secret door into the bar.
