Kids growing up in Eddington, PA, and Cornwells Heights, PA, which are neighborhoods in Bensalem Township, PA, circa 1970, used to ride our bikes to a candy store in a home here. A nice elderly lady used to sell candy from the front room of her house. (This was similar to what you would see in the River Wards of Philadelphia in the past century, where it seemed that every block had a corner home with a little grocery or candy store in the front room). It was a real treat for us to go to Addy's to buy candy. I think candy bars were a nickel then. [I'm fairly sure of the address. If someone has better information, please add it to the comment section below.] {Someone I met remembers the place and recalls it was also a deli, and only neighborhood people knew about it. That jogs my memory: I think it did indeed have a deli counter. -- Editor}
