About

Teddy's Juke Joint - An Authentic Blues Juke Joint

Teddy's is one of the last original surviving authentic homes of live blues music. This information is from the New York Times, 5/19/13, at p. 10, in an article by Alex Crevar on a handful of surviving juke (prob. Gullah for disorderly ) joints. The article says that the owner, Lloyd Teddy Johnson, Jr., was born 67 years ago on a bed on what is now the stage area.
