Derby-Port Drive-In screen stood here; first in VT to sell Dr. Pepper.

The Derby-Port Drive-In movie theater operated here from 1950 to 1985. PG-13 was the most adult film the owner would allow, because of his strong religious convictions. It was also the first place in Vermont to sell Dr. Pepper. This information is from two articles in Vermont's Northland Journal, Oct. 2016, from one on the Red Wing dance hall and one on the drive-in itself (part 2, part 1 having appeared in Sept. 2016). I picked up the issue while traveling. See http://www.northlandjournal.com/past-issues/.
