Tier 3 Club, aka TR3, was here in 1979-1980. There are a few things about TR3 on the Web, including at http://www.furious.com/perfect/tier3.html. Some great bands performed here, and there was a mural by graffiti artist-who-made-it big, Basquiat (was it simply painted over eventually?). I heard of TR3 yesterday when it was mentioned on Sirius Channel 106, Volume, on the morning show: the Beastie Boys when they were teenagers hung out here, and pulled a prank during a New Order show, and if I remember right, it had to do with a smoke bomb.
