Almo Radio Company was here. (It appears it moved to Northeast Philly as an appliance store.) Here is how I got this info. I purchased an old 1961 jazz record, the Birdland Story, at The Archive in Lansdale, PA. In the sleeve was an old catalog for Empire Scientific Corporation stereo equipment. The catalog had a stamp on the cover saying Almo Radio Company, High Fidelity & Commercial Sound, and this address, only the zip code was simply 7 . I believe this section of Arch St. was once called Radio Row.
