Blues Legend Muddy Waters Played Here

This building has had a lot of incarnations. I remember it as the Fiesta night club and catering hall when I was growing up a few blocks away in the 60s. It was Summit House and also Lin's Restaurant. But for a time it was Cherry's, which was a disco and night club. Various bands played there, such as Badfinger on a comeback tour, The A's, Quincy, John Kay and Steppenwolf, and Robert Hazard and the Heroes. But perhaps the most noteworthy was blues legend Muddy Waters, on 9/30/79. See https://www.newspapers.com/search/#query=cherry%27s+%222636+bristol+pike%22+%22muddy+waters%22. (All of the above info is from newspapers.com, location of various editions of the Phila. Inquirer and Daily News.) The entrance was where The Hair Boutique is now, and it encompassed the entire building, which has now been divided up into retail space.
