In 1782, Robert Aitken printed the Bible of the American Revolution, America's first bible, here. The building has been a candy shop since 1876. It became Shane's in 1911 and was run by the Shane family until 2010, when it was taken over by Eric and Ryan Berley. Most of its products are still made in-house.
