Curb Engraving In Front Of Gee Whiz Diner

Gee Whiz Diner's founder, Peter Panayiotou, died from COVID-19 in April 2020. The diner was closed because of the pandemic and his son Chris was too distraught over his father's death to reopen it. But he was inspired to do so after a mystery welder engraved his father's name into the curb outside the diner. See the New York Times, 1/10/21, at Metro pp. 1, 4.
