In the New York Times' "Metropolitan Diary" feature, 9/6/20 at Metro p. 6, Jim Rocco wrote about how his grandpa planted ivy on the fence surrounding a tennis court when this location was the Jackson Heights Pool and Country Club. After a time it became too thick and tennis players complained of balls getting lost in the thick wall of ivy. He reported visiting it and still, "on the corner of the property, framing the church's brick signage, there was one remnant of the past: some of my grandfather's ivy."
