Abandoned as a baby in a dresser here - Cheryl Edwards.

On August 14, 1967, Cheryl Edwards "was discovered inside a pillow-case hidden under a dresser in a vacant apartment of an otherwise occupied West Philadlephia rowhouse. She was naked, weighed 5 pounds, 7 ounces, and the umbilical cord that once tied her to her mother was cut but still attached." She was mistaken for a chicken and tossed into a trash bin until a curious onlooker found her and saved her life. This information is from "Who Am I" by Stephanie Farr in the Philadelphia Inquirer, 6/20/21, at p. A1, A10-11. Ms. Edwards story is very moving and compelling. The building where she was found has been torn down.
