John Sanson, DO, office here, 60s, 70s.

Dr. Sanson had his office here for many years, next to the garage, while he raised his family in the rest of the house. He had five children. There were really only two family doctors in the area in the sixties, the other being Dr. Charles Knowles, who I think was also a DO. Dr. Sanson was beloved. He'd take care of the sisters at the nearby convent at St. Charles Borromeo for free. He would shut down for the entire month of August, telling his patients to go to Dr. Knowles during that time, and take his family on month-long cross-country vacations in, if I remember correctly, a Pontiac station wagon with a 455 engine. Behind this house, actually on Bristol Pike, was an old mansion-like home that is no longer there.
