To the best of my recollection, Rocky Balboa in the first Rocky was training by running North on 9th Street in the Italian Market, and an apple was thrown to him from this produce stand. I have a vague memory of someone who knew the Giordanos when we were all in high school, and it was a Giordano teen who actually threw the apple.
