Our Town Inspired by Wedding in This Home

This story came from today's Philadelphia Inquirer at p. 1. On 6/26/35, Amos Wilder married Catharine Kerlin in the garden of this house. Amos' brother, Thorton Wilder, was the best man. The bride's mother made a fuss about the groom not seeing the bride on their wedding day before the ceremony, and that notion was the spark for Thorton Wilder's play, Our Town. Some memorabilia from the wedding will be placed on permanent display at the Historical Society of Moorestown.
