In Memory of Hundreds of Fish - Irvine, California

A request by a People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals volunteer, Dina Kourda, for a real plaque here had been denied by city officials. The plaque would have read, In Memory of Hundreds of Fish Who Suffered and Died at this Spot, October 11, 2012. News reports say that about 1,600 pounds of live saltwater bass died here because of a three-way vehicle collision that included the fish-tank truck. The fish were on their way to an Asian supermarket, Ranch 99 Market.
