Cornwells Fire Company Number One

This, the second and present home of the company, was built between 1955 and 1958. (The original firehouse was at 1018 Cornwells Avenue, a block away.) There is a good history on its Web site. The white half circle above the bay doors and the white rectangles above the doors were originally windows, which looked a lot better, but leaked all the time. But it is still a nice looking, well preserved building, and the company has had tremendous volunteers and its share of heroes.
