A disembodied torso was found on Feb. 17, 1887, in the Eddington Section of Bensalem, PA. It is the subject of a book, Hannah Mary Tabbs and the Disembodied Torso, by Kali Nicole Gross. It appears that Tabbs, an African American woman, may have killed her much younger lover, Wakefield Ganes (African American as well?), and blamed the weak-minded 18 year old, George Wilson (light-skinned, interracial), and there was a possible forced confession from Wilson at the hands of the police, and racial bias.
