There was a little independent super market here in the 1960s. As kids, we loved to go there for an ice cream or soda treat. There was an old woman who we thought was homeless (but we weren't sure) who used to stand at the checkout lines asking for spare change.

Comments : I hear that before becoming Quick Shop ( or was it Quik-Shop), the store was Accardis, which moved to Croydon. Also, I heard that there was a dry good store adjacent to Quick Shop.
