The late, great poet and novelist, Charles Bukowski, drank at this bar during his days in Philadelphia. The Golden Horn, in the autobiographical movie Barfly, was based on this place. Bukowski took his beatings in the alley behind it. It probably had a different name in Bukowski's day. There is a good article on the Web about it by Mike Newall.
