From the Maine Antique Digest, June 2016, at p. 9-A.: this is one of a few examples in the US of a Belidor-type bascule bridge. It was completed in 1928, and had a plaque attached with the name of the steel fabricator, Boston Bridge Works, Inc, and 1928. The plaque has been stolen.
