Slavery marker removed by county in Haddon Heights, NJ

There was a historic plaque marking that Africans were enslaved here during most of the 18th Century. Some locals do not like the slavery past being presented on plaques. At the request of a judge who lives nearby, the one for this house was removed by the county. Another one nearby, tilted Slavery in Haddon Heights, was apparently stolen. This information is from Slavery markers stir a local debate, by Kevin Riordan, in the Philadlephia Inquirer, 6/10/14, at page B2.
