Goody'z, in East Greenville, PA

[Moved: see comments. - Editor] We were looking for a place for lunch after a morning of skiing at Bear Creek, and are we glad we found this place. I had a great All The Way, essentially a 'California cheeseburger,' my son had a good hot dog, and the half-dozen pierogies with butter and onions were fried just right. My son liked that the hand-cut fries came in a little cardboard car. There was a fifties theme, but it was not overdone like some of the more fake-feeling chains. This place was authentic.

Comments : Returned here yesterday after skiing at Bear Creek. We tried the corndog dipped in homemade batter, chili and fresh-cut fries, all superb. Next time well try the milkshake and Longacre hand-dipped ice cream.

Comments : Stopped here again today with the family after skiing at Bear Creek. Tried the chicken gumbo and it was very good. Something else I like about this place is that they make available things like Old Bay seasoning and bottles of vinegar in case you want to make your own fries fixins. Other places charge extra for putting Old Bay on fries.

Comments : If you wonder what that intoxicating aroma of chocolate in the neighborhood of Goodyz is all about, see the entry for Blommer Chocolate Co. on Cyber Plaque.

Comments : Last week I tried the pull pork sandwich. It was great! I asked about it. They freshly pull their own pork and have their own barbecue sauce. I also tried the chocolate-covered banana, which I discovered I am not a big fan of. (My 12-yr-old son tells me that you are supposed to let the banana thaw first, and then it has taste, that it is really a chocolate covered banana and is only frozen so it wont go bad. My mom tells me that when she was a kid eating them on the Wildwood, NJ, boardwalk, they tasted just fine frozen. So, I dont know.. Guess Ill have to try one thawed.)

Comments : Ate here again yesterday. Food was excellent. Really liked that this joint switched from Pepsi beverages to Coke products, which is my preference.

Comments : We went to Bear Creek yesterday for the first time this season for some spring skiing, and on the way discovered Goodyz was closed. Then, we learned that it moved to Route 100 in Bechtelsville, which is not too far away from this location. Well have to check it out sometime.
