Knapp Farm - 115-year-old woman, George Washington (?)

There is an historic marker on Route 202 in front of this house that reads: Knapp Farm Glenroy c. 1760 Continuously Occupied by the Knapp Family from 1835 until 2002. Home of Florence Knapp b 1873 who was the oldest living person in the world at the time of her death in 1988. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, 1976.    [Not proven conclusively, but there is a good chance George Washington stayed or stopped here. I learned this at a Montgomery Township Historical Society open house here a few years ago.  --  Editor, 4/17/19]

Comments : I learned at the open house yesterday at this site that the front room had once been the office of the justice of the peace, a few generations ago.
