Site of an early show by The Police - Grendel's Lair
A great cabaret/ dinner theater/ music venue had been here. The Police played an early gig here, getting paid $400. I was not there, but I know someone who was who said the show was poorly attended. I thought it was one show, but on the Web I see two dates listed, Oct. 22 and Nov. 13, 1978. Maybe someone who knows can comment with better information.

Comments : In todays Philadelphia Inquirer, at p. C4, is a review of the Paul Simon/Sting joint concert in Philly on 3/7/14. It says that Sting mentioned his first show in Philadelphia with the Police at Grendels Lair.
