Old West Miniature Village and Museum - Cody, WY

We stopped at this gift/souveneir store last month on our way back to Yellowstone from Cody. Our nine-year-old son loved the gigantic miniature (oxymoron?) village connected to it. Admission is free. It is like a train layout, but mostly involved Wyoming and Montana history, although my son was most interested in the trains on the platform. After seeing it, my son was inspired to buy a miniature moose, bear and bison in the shop portion for his own train layout. There are also interesting dioramas and display cases around the miniature village, creating a museum atmosphere. Lots of Native American artifacts. The place is a little worn with age, but reminiscent of similar attractions that used to appear more often along highways. It has a lot of charm.
