Cornwells Fire Company (Original Firehouse)

This was the first home for the fire company, from 1915 to 1955 (when it moved a block away to its present location at 2049 Bristol Pike). The company's Web site has a good history page. The bell that was used to sound the alarm is now next to the hall entrance behind the Bristol Pike firehouse.

Comments : The original firehouse in 1915, before the brick one was built, was a clapboard building that housed the pumper and horses. The building was sold to Bound Beverage and moved there for its use. Bound Beverage is still in business at 2544 Bristol Pike in Bensalem. Does anyone know if any remnant of the old wooden firehouse still exists there?
