Bensalem African Methodist Episcopal Church

This church was founded in 1818 by freed slaves and still holds services. This location was in a small African American neighborhood, I've heard, in the 1950s, maybe, called "Little Jeruslaem." I don't know whether the name was somehow meant to be perjorative or not.

Comments : I remember from growing up in Bensalem in the 1960s that this section was a small African American neighborhood called Little Jerusalem, and there is some indication on the Web that the church was named Little Jerusalem AME Church. It appears the church was built in 1830.
