A fabulous mural of Dr. J, the legendary 76-er basketball giant, is on the side of this building. It was painted by Kent Twitchell in 1990 as part of the Mural Arts Program's Albert M. Greenfield African-American Iconic Images Collection. The building has been for sale and there had been some fear as to what would happen to the mural.

Comments : There is a nice photo of the mural, called Ridge and Fairmount, Philadelphia, PA 2002, by will Steacy on p. 18 of Migration, Lost and Found in America, assembled by Donald McCrea. Well, it is a very artistic photo, so it is not necessarily about the mural of Dr. J, per se, but Dr. J is an important part of the image.
