Comments : There was an article in yesterdays Philadelphia Inquirer, at pp. B1, B5, about this church now celebrating its 300th anniversary. Some interesting items from the article follow. The church was visited by President Benjamin Harrison in 1889. It was visited by Secretary of State William Jennings Bryan in 1914. Merchant and U.S. Postmaster General John Wanamaker was a member. Wanamaker also donated the grand church bell that still rings out from Abingtons steeple today.
