The Snow White Luncheonette was here for many years. It was a greasy-spoon, but it had its charm and did win Best Milkshake one year in Philadelphia Magazine. The writer Jim Knipfel, when he wrote for the weekly Welcomat (now called the Philadelphia Weekly) a couple of decades ago, wrote a scathing review of it, and in turn was criticzed in letters to the editor for going too far in his remarks. A Burger.Org burger joint recently opened at the spot.
