Halfway House - Philadelphia to Trenton
At the corner of Bristol Pike and Cornwells Avenue used to stand Simons Store, a ma and pa general store. Next to it, between it and what is now Oldskool Produxions, was an old house with an actual historic plaque out front, calling it the Halfway House. It was, during the time of the American Revolution, stopped at by people like George Washington. It was exactly halfway between the center of Philadelphia, PA, and Trenton, NJ. The neighboring boat place (no longer there) bought it when I was a kid in the late 60s, early 70s, and used it for storage and it deteriorated and was eventually demolished. What a shame!
