When I was a boy, late 60s, early 70s, we'd ride our bikes to this place all the time. It was a lawn and garden equipment supply and repair place, but it also sold mini bikes, which we were enthralled with. The owner, who went by Gentleman James (or was it Gentleman Jim ), was a very nice guy, although I think we may have gotten on his nerves hanging out and never buying anything, except for maybe a chain link for our own mini bikes now and then. A friend who went to St. Charles Borromeo grade school with us had a job there fixing things, mostly gas-powered lawnmowers, and we envied him for it.
