The Cornwells Pharmacy was here for many years. It was opened in 1941 by Edgar C. Doc Bekes and his wife, Adelaide H. Lady Bekes, and they ran it until retirement in 1962, and it was opened under different management for many years after that. In the sixties when I was a kid I bought many a frozen treat here, and spent a lot of my lawn mowing earnings on buying plastic car model kits there.
