Someone told us about this place and its $16 two-foot hoagies. We tried one and it was great! Old style, traditional, Italian hoagie. The meats combine for the taste, as opposed to the grass doing it (in fact, they have no onions or lettuce and very few tomato slices). The store atmosphere is also cool. The cashier, who said she was 82, introduced her sister working behind the counter who was 92. She said her folks came from Italy and opened the store in 1917, and they grew up living on the second floor. The other workers when we were there were of the next generation of the same family. I asked the 92-year-old when she would retire, and she said never. The younger sister said work is what keeps you going. They made a good impression on my nine-year-old son. It is out of the way for us, but we'll be going back.
