The famed Latin Casino nightclub was here (1960-1978), after leaving 1309 Walnut Street in Philadelphia (also on Cyber Plaque). The building next housed Emerald City, a sometimes disco, sometimes New Wave club, until 1982. The building was demolished and Subaru built a headquarters here, opening in 1986. Great performers such as Richard Pryor and Al Martino appeared at the Latin Casino. The greatest shows I saw at Emerald City, I think, were Psychedelic Furs, XTC, The Buzzcocks and Joe King Carrasco and the Crowns.
