There is a controversy brewing here because a bronze plaque honoring native son Michael Landon, the late actor who played Little Joe Cartwright on the TV series Bonanza, and who was also on other shows, was removed. It had been a part of a playground called The Little Treehouse on the Prairie, a play on the name of another Landon series, Little House on the Prairie. The plaque was apparently removed after the treehouse section was dismantled, and never replaced, and made its way into the hands of a local newspaper (long story). Fans are trying to have it remounted within the park.
