Really cool mini bikes made in Taiwan, under the Toyoco brand, were assembled here in the early 1970s. They had Tecumseh engines. My dad knew the owner of the company, either a Dr. Shin or Chin (I don't remember exactly, as I was only about 13 at the time and my memory has faded). [See comments below for updated info. - Editor] My dad did some electrical relay work for a model of a desalinization plant Dr. Shin was designing for use by some island country. Dr. Shin was into many ventures. Off to the side of the Toyoco plant he had an electronics assembly plant that I think was building radios, but I might be wrong about the product. In any event, my dad bartered some of his work for a candy apple red and white Toyoco mini bike for me. I sure had a lot of fun with it, eventually selling it when I outgrew it. I wish I had held onto it.
